Following a year of continued growth in global wind capacity and investment across key markets, Tamarindo has announced the winners of the 2026 Wind Investment Awards, recognising the companies and individuals who have made outstanding achievements across the onshore and offshore wind industries over the last 12 months.
Now in its seventh edition, the Wind Investment Awards brings together the companies and individuals responsible for driving excellence in the sector. The programme highlights success across innovation, financing, project development, and asset management, showcasing best practices in the wind and wider renewable energy industry as we transition to a zero-subsidy future.
The past year has been marked by auction successes and failures; growing interest from private equity giants, particularly in offshore wind, and major players revisiting their strategies. However, the figures continue to point to strong levels of activity and a resilient industry, with record breaking capacity installed last year, up 40 percent in 2025.
“It’s been a busy year for the wind industry, and we’ve seen more clearly how geopolitical challenges and energy security concerns are shaping the market” said Adam Barber, Tamarindo’s Chief Executive Officer. “What that really reinforces is the importance of home-grown renewable power, including wind, in a more uncertain global environment. The industry is continuing to scale and deliver, but the growing pains are real and will remain part of the picture. The Wind Investment Awards recognise the people, companies, and projects driving progress across the sector and provides an opportunity to shine a light on the leaders and pioneers shaping the industry. Hosted by Tamarindo, the specialist insight and communications advisory, the awards gala dinner celebrated on the 21 May in London brought over 200 of the industry’s top decision-makers, thought leaders, and innovators of the industry.
The Wind Investment Awards will return in 2027, with entries opening later this year on the 20th October.
