The 185.6 MW Forêt Domaniale wind farm has received government authorisation for construction. It will be located across forested areas within the municipalities of Cap-Saint-Ignace, Montmagny, Notre-Dame-du-Rosaire, and Sainte-Apolline-de-Patton in the Montmagny regional county municipality. The development is being undertaken through an equal partnership between EDF solutions électriques and Alliance de l’énergie de l’Est, each holding a 50 per cent stake.
Environmental integration has been incorporated into the project through environmental studies and mitigation measures aimed at protecting biodiversity and natural habitats. Preparatory activities are set to begin shortly, with construction scheduled to start in winter 2026 and commissioning targeted for late 2027. The development will involve collaboration with local companies and suppliers as part of its implementation.
In December 2025, EDF power solutions Canada and Énergie Renouvelable Granit Inc announced that the Haute-Chaudière wind project in Quebec, Canada has secured non-recourse construction and term financing, enabling the start of construction. The 124 MW project, located in the Regional County Municipality of Granit, received the funding from a group of lenders.
