Under the agreement, Gridle provides optimisation and route-to-market services for AkkuX’s battery projects across electricity wholesale and balancing services markets. Oulu-based AkkuX remains responsible for the development and ownership of the battery assets.

The first project covered by the agreement is a 5 MW/10 MWh BESS in Outokumpu, Finland. The project is expected to enter operation later in 2026. The battery is commercially driven investment, with revenues maximized through participation in electricity wholesale markets and Fingrid’s balancing services markets, contributing to the balancing of the Finnish power system. Teemu Manninen, CEO of AkkuX, commented: “Gridle brings mission-critical reliability and proven experience in battery optimisation, which gives us confidence as we continue to scale our project portfolio. As part of Elisa Industriq, Gridle has the resources to continuously develop the optimisation and generate best possible results for us.”

The agreement provides a framework for long-term operational co-operation as AkkuX expands its grid scale battery project pipeline in Finland.

Earlier in 2026, Gridle has announced several new grid scale battery optimisation projects, including partnerships with Nivos and Vantaan Energia.
