Avangrid has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for the Big Horn I wind project located in Klickitat County, Washington. The project will have a nameplate capacity of 199.5 MW, enough to supply electricity to around 70,000 homes annually. The project, developed by Avangrid in 2006, is expected to commence commercial operations in 2028 following its redevelopment.
Additionally, the agreement marks the fourth PPA between Avangrid and PSE for renewable energy projects in the Pacific Northwest region. The companies have earlier partnered on the Golden Hills, Lund Hill, and Klondike III wind projects. Together, these three wind projects along with the Big Horn I project have a combined generation capacity exceeding 600 MW.
In February 2026, Avangrid commenced commercial operation of two solar projects in Wasco County, Oregon, namely Daybreak Solar and Bakeoven Solar. The two plants together provide a combined installed capacity of 269 MWdc, equivalent to 200 MWac. Daybreak Solar accounts for 189 MWdc, or 140 MWac; while Bakeoven Solar contributes 80 MWdc, or 60 MWac.
