Masdar and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) have formed a 50/50 joint venture (JV) in Montenegro. The JV, headquartered in Nikšić, will deploy solar, wind, hydropower, pumped storage, BESS, and hybrid energy solutions. It aims to meet domestic energy demand while enabling renewable power exports across the Western Balkans and Southern Europe.
In April 2026, TotalEnergies and Masdar signed a $2.2 billion 50/50 JV agreement to merge their onshore renewable activities in Asia. The JV will manage 3 GW of operational assets and 6 GW under advanced development that are expected to commence operation by 2030. The JV will be the sole platform for developing, building, owning and operating onshore solar, wind and battery storage projects.
In January 2026, Masdar and ENGIE achieved financial close for the 1.5 GWac Khazna solar project in Abu Dhabi. The financing package has been secured from seven regional and international lenders, including Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, KfW IPEX, BNP Paribas, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, and Emirates Development Bank.
